AI in companies: here’s why they can no longer do without it

Artificial intelligence has long ceased to be just a topic for specialists or technology visionaries. Today, it is a concrete lever for growth, efficiency, and innovation within companies.

Automation, predictive analytics, virtual assistants, and content generation are just a few of the applications that are revolutionizing the way we work.

According to the State of AI in the Enterprise report According to the State of AI in the Enterprise report (Deloitte, 2024), 79% of companies that have adopted AI in production report having already achieved significant benefits. Among these, the most notable are increased productivity (55%), greater operational efficiency (47%), and faster decision-making (41%). Moreover, artificial intelligence also helps improve the customer experience and reduce costs, making it an indispensable asset.

The Work Trend Index 2024 also confirms this trend. Microsoft’s Work Trend Index 2024 confirms this: 75% of knowledge workers would like to delegate repetitive, low-value tasks to AI, such as writing emails, searching for information, or drafting reports. The expectation is clear: to free up time and focus for more strategic and creative tasks.

It’s no longer just a matter of innovation: it’s a structural shift. AI has become a new operational standard, essential for staying competitive in a constantly evolving market.

Microsoft 365 Copilot: AI within reach for everyday work

In this context, tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot represent the missing link between the potential of artificial intelligence and the concrete needs of everyday work. The AI-powered assistant, integrated into Microsoft 365 apps, continues to evolve. With the second wave of updates – the Wave 2 Spring Updates – Microsoft raises the bar even further, introducing advanced features that promise to radically change the way we work.

A revamped interface and new intelligent features

Microsoft 365 Copilot features a redesigned user interface focused on enhancing three key elements: Chat, Search, and Agents.. The result is a smoother, more personalized, and more productive experience.

The main new features of Wave 2
  1. Copilot Search
The new intelligent search allows users to use natural language to find documents, emails, or messages, even if they don’t remember exact keywords. Integrated with Microsoft Graph, it provides summaries and previews without the need to open other applications.
  2. Copilot Create
Designed for content creators, this feature leverages GPT-4o to generate text, images, videos, and documents in seconds. It includes corporate templates to maintain consistency and branding, even when working at speed.
  3. Specialized agents: Researcher and Analyst
The new intelligent agents can assist with complex tasks such as in-depth research or data analysis. It is also possible to create custom agents, tailoring them to specific workflows or company data sources.
  4. Copilot Notebooks
A new feature for project management: Notebooks serve as an organizational hub, gathering content, chat histories, and useful references. A valuable tool for teamwork.
  5. Personalization and memory
Users can now set preferences and activate Copilot’s memory, which “learns” from its users to provide increasingly relevant and targeted responses over time.

Governance and control for IT

IT administration also plays a key role. With the new Copilot Control System, administrators can monitor, manage, and secure the use of AI within the company directly from the Microsoft 365 Admin Center. Moreover, thanks to the integration with Microsoft Purview, it is possible to ensure regulatory compliance and transparency in the use of AI agents.

Release timeline

The updates known as Copilot Wave 2 Spring Update were announced with a rollout starting in mid-May 2025 for users with a “targeted release”, followed by general availability by the end of May.. This means that many of the described features are already available to users with a Microsoft 365 Copilot license, without any special actions required from IT administrators, except for the recommendation to inform their users.

Some specific features, such as opening Copilot Pages content in Word, are still being gradually rolled out and will be fully operational by mid-June 2025.. Other more advanced integrations, such as those related to data security with Microsoft Purview Data Security Posture Management, are scheduled for release for june 2025. In summary, it is no longer a preview version, but a progressive rollout that is moving toward full general availability in the summer months.

The benefits are clear: +12% productivity

The adoption of Copilot is already showing concrete results. A recent study highlighted a 12% increase in efficiency in daily tasks, thanks to a reduction in time spent reading emails and creating documents.

Artificial intelligence is now an integral part of the DNA of modern companies. And with tools like Microsoft 365 Copilot, it is no longer necessary to be a technology expert to take advantage of its benefits. The second wave of updates shows that the future of work is not only smarter but also more accessible, intuitive, and personalized. In this context, our service of Managed Workplace is designed precisely to guide companies toward a modern work model: a digital, secure, productive work environment that keeps pace with innovation. Effectively integrating tools like Copilot is one of our main goals because we believe that the conscious adoption of AI—combined with centralized device management and data protection—is the key to building a truly intelligent workplace.
