Outlook gets a makeover: a new unified version for Windows is on the way

Microsoft announces a major shift for one of its most iconic tools. Starting in June 2025, the new version of Outlook for Windows will be released, set to replace the current "classic" apps with a single, unified experience consistent with the one already familiar on Outlook Web.

The update – included in the official Microsoft 365 roadmap – is part of the Redmond giant’s strategy to unify the interface and improve continuity of use across different devices and work environments.

The new app promises a more modern design and improved performance, along with tighter integration with other Microsoft 365 tools such as Teams, To Do, and Loop. The general availability release is expected in mid-2025, but organizations can already begin testing the preview available within their Microsoft tenants.

A technical change, but also a cultural one

Beyond the technical aspect, the transition to the new Outlook represents a broader evolution: a different way of approaching everyday productivity, where speed, simplicity, and collaboration become central elements. For businesses, this means rethinking long-standing habits, updating IT policies, and, above all, ensuring users have a smooth and consistent experience.
