ABOUT TTB ENGINEERING SA
TTB Engineering is a Swiss manufacturer of machines based in Riva San Vitale, near Lugano, specialized in the design and construction of high-precision tool grinding machines. TTB Engineering offers customized solutions for the machining of tools in carbide, HSS, and other materials, with diameters ranging from 0.02 to 16 mm.
Our solutions include special clamping systems, stable supports, stem guiding units to improve concentricity, vision units for orienting blanks with internal cooling holes, grinding wheel probing systems, image processing for tool positioning, special measurement systems with laser or probe technology, assembly units for specific applications, and loading units.
TTB Engineering stands out for its micrometric precision and repeatability in tool production, ensuring tight tolerances and dimensional and thermal stability. Our machines are ideal for series production, complex geometries, and tight tolerances, offering reduced setup times and high productivity.
THE CHALLENGE
TTB Engineering was facing critical challenges in terms of performance, security, and IT reliability at a time when the company was growing and consolidating its international presence. The existing IT infrastructure had clear limitations in supporting business evolution, putting at risk operational continuity and data protection.
One of the main issues was the lack of redundancy in the IT infrastructure: the servers, now nearing the end of their support cycle, posed a real risk of sudden interruptions and data loss. Additionally, the outdated networking struggled to support the needs of an expanding company, limiting both performance and security of internal and external communications.
On the cybersecurity front, TTB Engineering was still relying on an outdated solution, which was no longer capable of effectively protecting the company from modern threats. This, combined with the lack of proactive monitoring tools and a structured security strategy, made the company vulnerable to cyberattacks and potential data breaches.
Another challenge was IT management. TTB needed an external partner who could provide the organization, specialized skills, time, and capabilities to effectively respond to the needs of a growing infrastructure—elements that only a structured team can guarantee.

One of the key elements of the renewal strategy was Cisco Meraki, a secure and manageable networking solution as-a-service, capable of simplifying IT management, reducing operational complexity, and improving the resilience of the infrastructure.
To optimize costs and make the infrastructure more resilient, a Smart Cloud approach was adopted, favoring scalable SaaS solutions that allowed for reduced initial investments and optimized IT resource management. The plan also placed a strong emphasis on cybersecurity, focusing on both infrastructure protection and data security.
In this context, the Microsoft 365 suite was integrated as a core pillar of the managed service, enhancing productivity, security, and management of company data. At the same time, a customized adoption process for Microsoft cloud technologies and managed services was initiated, aiming to ensure greater security, reliability, and optimization of IT management.
Although the cloud adoption process is still ongoing, 4IT Solutions continues to manage TTB Engineering’s existing IT infrastructure, providing constant support and helping to mitigate risks, ensuring TTB Engineering a stable IT environment.
RESULTS
